Sounds Like Harvey – Women in the Workforce tomorrow!
How does someone go from growing up in a small coastal town, to travelling the world, and eventually building a career focused on supporting others through life’s challenges?
In our next episode, Station Coordinator and volunteer announcer Verity Hyde chats with Rebecca about her unique career journey and the experiences that shaped her passion for people and community.
Rebecca reflects on growing up in a close-knit community, where watching her mother support those around her inspired an early understanding of compassion and connection. Although her first interests were acting and hairdressing, after completing her apprenticeship her career unexpectedly shifted into the airline industry, taking her across Australia and overseas.
During her years working in aviation, Rebecca developed a strong interest in understanding human behaviour, something that ultimately led her to transition into human services. Over the past 15 years, she has built extensive experience working in mental health, addictions, family and domestic violence, the prison system and community counselling.
Today, Rebecca is a Registered Counsellor, Provisionally Registered Psychologist, and founder of Psyche’ Counselling, where she continues supporting people through difficult times and life transitions.
It’s an inspiring conversation about career change, following your purpose, and how unexpected opportunities can shape your future.
